Hello! My name is Chewy and I came to CAHS when my family was no longer able to care for me. I am a little guy that still has plenty of pep in my step. I have done well with the other dogs I have met but I would prefer a home without cats. I would do best in a home with children 6+.
I do have Addison’s Disease, in short my body does not produce enough Cortisol and Aldosterone. Those two hormones are the most important hormones in regulating multiple necessary body function in order for me to survive. I am on a few medications to help regulate my hormones and am doing well on them. I will need to see a veterinarian regularly in order to make sure the amount of medication I am receiving is still effective in managing my Addison’s Disease. Anyone interested in adoption me should talk with their family veterinarian about Addison’s Disease and what the cost and care might be like!
