Hello! My name is Glenna; I came from Arkansas. At the end of 2021, the staff at CAHS noticed that I was lethargic and having difficulties using my back legs. They ran a 4DX test which tests for Heartworm and tick-borne illnesses, Lyme, Anaplasmosis, and Ehrlichia. Our staff had suspected Lyme disease because of the symptoms that I had, so we were all surprised when I came back Heartworm positive. I have received my 30-day course of antibiotics and steroids, followed by all 3 of my injections to treat my Heartworm infection. I am heartworm negative and ready to find my forever home!
I am an active girl, which made heartworm treatment difficult for me. Luckily I have been cleared of my heartworm, and I can run and play again! I am looking for a dog-savvy home and would greatly benefit from someone who has had experience with very high-energy and intelligent dogs. I need to be the only dog in the home. There is a good chance that after I settle into a new home, I can have some dog friends! I would do best in a home with teenage kids. I have done well the few times I have encountered cats.
