Special Needs Alert! – Deaf Dog
Hello there! My name is Lilah, and I found my way to CAHS when my previous owner could no longer care for me. I’m an incredibly special girl because I happen to be deaf! It’s likely that I was born deaf, as animals with all-white fur like mine have a higher chance of being deaf. But fret not! I don’t let my deafness slow me down one bit.
Being deaf means that I’ll require an owner who is willing to provide specialized training for me. Since I can’t hear, I can’t be trained using conventional methods. Therefore, I’ll thrive best with someone who has experience working with deaf dogs. I haven’t had the opportunity to interact with other animals, and due to my hearing impairment, it might be more challenging for me to understand their signals.
I would do best in a household with older children who are experienced with dogs. They can understand and accommodate my unique needs and help create a safe and comfortable environment for me.
I may be deaf, but I’m overflowing with love and zest for life. If you’re ready to embark on an incredible journey of training and companionship with a special dog like me, I’m eagerly waiting to meet you and become part of your loving family!
