1st Annual Rescue Ride & Kennel Lockup

The Rescue Ride Motorcycle Run & BBQ took place on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Conway Area Humane Society. Dan Lavigne and the United Bikers of NH organized the group ride through the white mountains and Maine. Registration opened at 10am and more than 30 bikers with passengers showed up to support the animals of the Conway Area Humane Society.

The Conway Police Department escorted our bikers safely down the White Mountain Highway. Bikers returned to CAHS after the ride for a cookout and kennel lockup fundraiser! Abenaki Trail Restaurant donated all of the food and condiments for the BBQ! We served cheeseburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, and chips to all attendees. Shaw’s donated soft drinks and supplies.

Former Town Manager, Tom Holmes, was locked up in a dog kennel until he raised $1,000! Supporters could donate to release him or keep him locked up. Donations came from online, social media posts, and in person attendees. We have photo proof of Tom locked up! He was locked up in the first of 12 new outdoor kennels to be added for our resident dogs. These kennels will allow our dogs to spend more time outside, including dogs on medical quarantine!
