The Conway Area Humane Society awarded Sheila Robinson as it’s first ever Humane Hero of the Year. The award was presented to Shelia at a dinner/auction held at the Eagle Mountain House on May 19th. Shelia has been affiliated with the Humane Society since 2008 and helped in so many capacities, first as an employee for four years, and then as a volunteer ever since. Her passion these days is working with our cats. Her dedication to the animals through so many changes at the shelter is what is so impressive. She is admired and loved by all our staff! Congratulations to Sheila Robinson!
The dinner auction was a great success raising approximately $70k. The evening was hosted by Tim Westwig and Rob Clark. There were several great items auctioned off at the event. The auction item that created the most excitement was a Trails End Ice Cream Trailer Visit to your House, donated by Rob and Nancy Clark. Rob was kind enough to add a second visit because two people got into a friendly bidding war! Everyone won in the end! We do want to thank one of our most consistent donors of items, Timothy Psaledakis. He donated a beautiful Opal ring from his wonderful jewelry shop. We thank all our local businesses that donated items to this year’s live and silent auctions.
During the evening three films were shown to highlight some of the most profound animal cases to come through the shelter in the past year. The audience was very visibly moved by these cases. We thank our staff member Autumn St. John for filming and editing the videos.
The Be A Humane Hero Event was sponsored by the Eagle Mountain House, Granite State Contract Furnishings, Lupine Pet Collars and Leads, Marles Holding, Crest Auto World, White Mountain Oil and Propane, Pet Rendezvous, Designed Garden, and CB Accounting.
A special thank you to the staff of Eagle Mountain House for doing a great job with our event. A very special thank you to Brian from NHAV for doing an amazing job with all our AV needs.
We thank all of you for supporting the Conway Area Humane Society!
