Bri Boisselle: Humane Hero of the Year!

The Conway Area Humane Society proudly presented Bri Boisselle with the prestigious title of Humane Hero of the Year in recognition of her unwavering commitment and assistance with some of our most challenging animal cases. The award ceremony occurred during a delightful dinner and auction event held at the Grand Summit Hotel on May 25th. Bri, who joined the Humane Society as an Animal Caregiver and Adoption Counselor in 2019, has since established her own rescue organization called Over the Hill Senior Dog Sanctuary. At her sanctuary, she compassionately cares for dogs of all ages with medical, behavioral, and other special needs. Her remarkable dedication to these animals amidst the countless trials in the rescue community serves as an inspiration to all. Bri is cherished and admired by both our staff and the animals she helps. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Bri Boisselle on this well-deserved recognition!

The dinner and auction event surpassed all expectations, raising an impressive total of approximately $84k. The evening was cohosted by Executive Director Tim Westwig and Event Director Elizabeth Lord. Attendees were treated to a wide array of exceptional auction items. Still, the most thrilling and sought-after offering was the Trails End Ice Cream Trailer and Movie Night experience for 25 people and their beloved pets! This incredible package was generously donated by Rob and Nancy Clark and NHAV. We would also like to express our gratitude to Timothy Psaledakis, one of our most consistent donors, who graciously contributed a custom, one-of-a-kind pendant adorned with our shelter’s logo and featuring a diamond heart. Additionally, we were thrilled to have two live auction donors present at the event, who were so moved by the intense interest in their donation items that they generously doubled their contributions. Congratulations to the fortunate winners of the Pet Rendezvous Package and Tad Furtado’s French Chef experience. We extend our sincere appreciation to all the local businesses that generously donated items to this year’s live and
silent auctions.

Throughout the evening, four short films were screened, showcasing some of the most profound animal cases the shelter encountered in the past year. The audience was visibly moved by these stories, and we express our gratitude to our staff member Rachel Campbell for her outstanding work in filming and editing these videos. The Be A Humane Hero Event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Granite State Contract Furnishings, LID Tech, Lupine Pet Collars and Leads, Thayer Corporation, Marles Holding, Pet Rendezvous, The Glen House, Conway Family Dental Care, Marsh Insurance, Grand Summit Hotel, Designed Gardens, CB Accounting, Vermont Pet Food and Supply, and Milford Flooring. We are immensely grateful for their support in making this event a resounding success.

We extend a special thank you to the Grand Summit Hotel staff for their exceptional service and assistance in hosting our event. Additionally, we are grateful to Brian from NHAV for his outstanding management of all our audiovisual needs. The silent auction concluded on June 1st at noon, raising an impressive $8k! We would like to express our deep appreciation to all who participated in supporting the Conway Area Humane
Society. Once again, thank you all for your tremendous support!
